The baseball field consists of three bases, home plate, a pitcher's mound, batter's box, an infield and an outfield. Please see the diagram above.
In professional baseball, the distance between the bases is 90 feet. The distance between first base and third base is 127 feet, 3 3/8 inches. The pitcher's mound is located 90 feet from home plate. The distance between home plate and the outfield wall varies, depending upon the ballpark the game is being played in.
The bases on a Little League field are between 60 feet apart, with the distance between first and second base being 84 feet, 10 1/4 inches. The pitcher's mound is located between 60 feet from home plate, depending upon the age of players. The distance between home plate and the outfield wall is 180 feet.
