n. 1 the current popular custom or style, esp. in dress or social
conduct. 2 a manner or style of doing something (in a peculiar
fashion).
Fashion has a number of different meanings and connotations, but here
it is specifically apparel, shoes, etc.
To say in the least, fashion is important in the world – both traditionally
and in a modern way. Everywhere around the world people show their own
cultural identity through fashion. To name a few, there are the Dutch,
French, English, Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, African,

Modern fashions change as
fashion designers design new styles for the catwalk and large brands
come out with newer styles every year for people of
all sizes, not just models. The leading fashion designers most apparent
in the U.S. are Ralph Lauren, Ann Taylor, Saks, Tommy Hilfiger, etc.
Fashion is one thing that everyone keeps up with everywhere around the
world. For instance at the Oscars every year in the U.S., T.V. reporters
covering the awards always comment on stars’ attire, complimenting
or subtly criticizing how they look.
So what’s in fashion these days? Well, it depends on the season.
But let’s take spring as an example.
Step into a mall and you would say that the colors have gone wild. Solid,
plaid, striped, studded, and polka-dotted skirts, tops, pants, coats, you
name it, with logos everywhere. The fashion world takes people by storm
with new collections for every season. No one looks back at the designs
of last year, but starts afresh with new additions to their wardrobe |
