Moccasins                               Native Americans wore shoes called Moccasins.  Some moccasins have a hard sole and others have a soft sole.  Before the Native Americans met the Europeans, they used porcupine quills and bird feathers to decorate their moccasins.  Then the Europaens came with glass beads.

 Alasken Shoes
In Alaska it is cold.  Eskimos wore thick warm boots made of polar bear  fur or seal skin.  Sometimes straps were used across the ankle for security.  For extra warmth, socks made of woven grass could also be worn.

                      Latin American
Shoes in this region were usually leather sandals.  Yhey were decorated with silver and jewels.  They were very colurful.  Cowboy boots were very different than they are today.
