The latest version of the Abrams tank is the M1A2. Today, no new tanks are being produced but older versions of the Abrams are sent to the Anniston Army Depot, Anniston, Alabama, were they are dismantled. Then, the tank is shipped to the Lima, Ohio, Tank Plant, where it is refurbished with new state of the art technology. These “new” tanks are digitally controlled with displays for the crew members and technologically advanced imbedded diagnostics.
