It has been a great and exciting experience working with this international team to accomplish this great project

It has always been my hopes and expectations to learn more on how to create this kind of project with similar minded people from diverse cultures and background from all over the globe. I worked primarily on almost all of the site contents and videos and also made the graphics version of the website with the team members, I also had to do some coding for the site .  I want to specially acknowledge the hard working team that I worked with to produced this great project.  I always dreamed to do is to accomplish a whole good project with a wonderful team like ours , we all worked hard and do our best and my task was to translate from English to Arabic and that was very
tiring but I had done this and also i had to make the Arabic graphics version but it is not finished yet and also making the intro .

Am so glad to have an Opportunity to participate in this big

project with this wonderful team, Samuel did introduced me to this project, and had been looking for such great opportunities to work with other youths from parts of the world. I worked on creating an encyclopedia on AIDS for the project (which was used as the glossary page).  Consequently, I brought up useful ideas for the team. Hoping the world will appreciate our works here.

Establishing an online project, was really a difficult and innovative task, I joined the team in 2005, and I was impressed by the level  of progress already attained by the

team, my important task was creating a text version, though i also created a flash version but it wasn't accepted in the team, am so happy that today our project is up and great. Thanks to all GENESIS OF AIDS team member.

 Jorrit
Country: The Netherlands
Task: Assistant Coach (technical issues and advice)

In the beginning of October 2004 Samuel contacted me by e-mail. The topic of the project was established and he was looking for team members to help him to realize his ideas. He knew Omar from Egypt because he met him during the awards ceremony of ThinkQuest Africa some months earlier. They worked together before with good results so he joined the team. The other members of this international team that joined later are Ajinkya from India, Ahmed from Egypt and Omoniyi from Nigeria.

The members contributed to this project using their own individual strengths. All members have good computer skills (most of them took part in ThinkQuest before), so my job was rather limited. From time to time I was the main point of contact as communication between the members was not always easy. In first instance the members communicated mainly by e-mail and MSN Messenger, but later also using a forum that I provided.

Samuel is really concerned about the problems in his country and tries to do something about it. Aids is a big problem in Nigeria as well as it's in other countries across the African continent. Another problem those countries have to cope with is the food problem. Some months earlier Samuel created a great multi-lingual website about that topic which is available on www.odofin.com. In February 2005 he won a prize with that website in the Childnet Academy contest. He will attend the Academy Week that is held during March in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

I treasure the work of this team. Both Samuel and Omoniyi live in Nigeria and the circumstances there are not good for this kind of projects. Computer and internet usage is very limited and there are many power outages. This is almost impossible to imagine for the western world in which I live. Samuel doesn't have an internet connection at home so he uses a memory stick to take his files to one of the few internet cafes in the region. Many online conversations using MSN Messenger took place in that cafe too.  Omar, Ajinkya, Ahmed and Omoniyi: congratulations to you on this great project and I wish you good luck with your future activities!
