VIRUS - STRUCTURE

The structure of the human immune virus is a well organized one, there are distinctive layers the separates different parts of the virus and also layers and which perform distinct functions. The well arranged contents in the HIV cell are being enveloped by a layer known as the viral envelope. To see the contents of the cell, part of the viral envelope has to be taken off ( as you can see in the 3d model adjacent). The surface of the cell is however not smooth due to the presence of some little projections that are known as the co-receptor, which

HIV CELL

the virus uses in attaching itself to cells it intend to attack. If the viral envelope is slightly opened a sort of watery substance (cytoplasm) is first reached, followed by another set of organelles which is being encapsulated by the nucleocapsid. The organelles inside the nucleocapsid are the vital ones; the thread like RNA (ribonucleic acid) and the enzyme reverse transcriptase that the aids the cell when attacking.
