HIV |
|
|
| HIV is an acronym that stands for Human immune Virus. Like
most other viruses AIDS is a minute and can replicate( reproduce) itself several times
once it finds a suitable
host to reside. HIV can not survive outside a host for a long time, it has
to
find a human being to live in. HIV attacks the human immune
system |

Immune system |
|
|
| The immune system is a group of specialized cells that
fight against disease and antibodies that attempts to attack someone.
Unfortunately, the HIV attacks the immune system by replicating itself in the
immune system and eventually over powering the human immune system, and once the HIV succeeds in destroying the immune system it not
only gives chance for AIDS to develop, but also other
infections
usually known as opportunistic infections that sets in once the human immune
system is damaged. |

AIDS |
|
|
| When the HIV destroys the cells in the immune system, the
host becomes seriously ill, and at such stage such person to described to be
having AIDS (Acquired immune deficiency syndrome). At this stage it is
considered that about 40 opportunistic infections have already developed in the
host. The average time it takes for
HIV to develop into AIDS is ten years (based on a person that takes reasonable
diets). However using the level of HIV in the body vary from country to country
in determining if someone has AIDS |
