Soos’

At a ‘soos’ the mentally disabled visitors can do all kind of different things.
They are going there in their free time, if they do not to have work.
Or if they cannot work because their restriction is too serious.

In Almere the ‘soos’ is each last Sunday of the month. It has been intended for people of 16 years and older. The programme depends on what the visitors want to do. Therefore 'what the question' is. Generally there are activities in the ‘soos’ itself. But sometimes they go out on a day trip.
Menno tells in the small film what you can do on such a day out.

Teenage ‘soos’

In Almere there is a separate ‘soos’ for teenagers who are mentally disabled. This ‘soos’ is called InBtwien. In former days there was no own spot for teenagers. They were not yet old enough to work, at for example a day activity centre. They had to go to the ‘soos’ for adults. But having an own ‘soos’ of course is much more fun. At InBtwien there is for example a disco every Friday evening. But they can swim also, or go horse-riding. And there is also ' the chill-out room' . This is a room where they can play with the balls, on the swing, or simply have a chat with the other visitors. InBtwien is situated at the Pieter the Hooghstraat in Almere. And this Teenage ‘soos’ is open each day.
