Family
Home
The Prinsenstichting in Purmerend, the Netherlands, has two buildings.
One at the Centrum location Kadijkerkoog, and the other in Purmerend.
In this building teenagers or children who attend school can live. Twenty
children can have a
recidense in a family home which is guided by a competent mentor of the
Prinsenstichting.

Living accompanied independent
Independent living people with a mental handicap get companionship and support
at home. Some
of the clients live independent so without guidance. They can live independent,
and hire a place of residence but they may use the services of the foundation
where they live. The Prinsenstichting in Purmerend also has some apartments in
Koog aan de Zaan and in Purmerend. The difference between the people who live
accompanied independent and the people who live accompanied is that the people
who live accompanied independent don’t have and don’t need every day
help. A mentor is coming once a week to help with things which can’t be
fixed by the person. The other group needs attention everyday.
