Ceramics
Robert
en Alexander work at the ceramics department every Wednesday.
"You can make a lot of things from clay, like milk bowls, statues,
plates, vases, etc.
There are 3 sorts of clay."

"When you have made something out of clay, it has to dry for about
3 or 4 weeks.
And when it has been in the oven you have to put the colour on it and put
it back in the oven.
And at last you have to put the ceramic glaze on it and bake it again.
That will take about 2 or 3 days."
Sometimes the clients can think for themselves what they are going to make
out of the clay.
But the Centre gets a lot of assignments by people who want to order a special
piece.
When they can decide on their own, Robert usually is making a pot with pieces
of clay.
You can see on the photo a bowl that Robert has made.
"But
most of the time we get an assignment from our mentors.
This week we had to make a little pot for milk and sugar.
Sometimes we get an assignment that has to be finished in one day.
Because it takes 4 weeks before it is all finished."
Usually the things the clients have made are sold in the shop Trikado.
Or to the people who had ordered the piece.
In the cupboards below you can see all kinds of ceramics.

Claudien
Claudien works at ceramics too.

She showed us how to make little hearts out of the clay.
When these hearts are baked in the oven you can paste them onto a photo frame.
