I am the mother of Renate.
For at least 5 years now I coach her and her friends with making websites.
Renate has joined the Thinkquest competition in the Netherlands for 4 years.
I am a volunteer at Technika 10 in the Netherlands.
This organisation tries to encourage girls in chosing for technique.
This means working with tools or building websites.
In the Netherlands less students are chosing a technical study.
And even less girls enjoy working with techniques.

Every year I try to learn the girls something new.
This year they learned to use Photoshop.
They used it in making new buttons for the site.
I also learned them how to make iframes in stead of 'normal' frames into the site.

Hello, my name is Joke Duim, I am 49 years old, married with two children and I am a teacher at the Helen Parkhurst in Almere (the same school Renate attends).

I think the girls are doing a great "job" by creating their own website about disabled people. I've learned a lot by reading and correcting their texts so I can imagine they will impress lots of others with their fantastic website!

Besides school I 've got a lot of hobbies like singing in a "pop" choir, playing tennis, reading , listening to (pop) music.
