Biography
Joyce and Lionel Dahmer gave birth to their oldest son, Jeffrey. His father,
Lionel, recalled that once the entire family took part in nursing a small bird
back to health after an injury. When Jeff was four he helped his father sweep
the remains of some small, dead animals out from under the house. Jeffrey began
playing with bones, which set off a warning signal in Lionel Dahmer’s
head that Jeffrey could be “different”. At the age of six, Dahmer
had surgery for a double hernia, and he was never quite the same again. Jeffrey
seemed weaker, and somehow vulnerable. In 1966 Joyce and Lionel had a second
child, David, and the family moved to Akron, Ohio so Lionel could go to graduate
school. Jeffrey became slightly afraid of others, and he displayed a general
lack of self-confidence. Jeffrey developed a close friendship with his neighbor
Lee when they moved to Akron. Dahmer did not torture living creatures; he just
waited until they were dead to play with them. When Jeffrey was eighteen his
parents’ rocky marriage ended in divorce.
Murder
Jeffrey Dahmer murdered seventeen teenage guys. The Straigjter, Hocks, Guerrero,
Wenderger, Doxator, Deexs, Lacy, Lindsey, Miller, Hughes, Bradehoft, Turner,
Sears, Thomas, Smith were all families that suffered the loss of a teenage boy
because of Jeffrey Dahmer. There were also some other families that lost teenage
boys to Jeff. When Dahmer would murder the teens, he would dismember them and
sleep with there corpses and he would keep parts of his victims for trophies.
Most of the murders he committed took place in an apartment building called
the “Oxford Apartments”, at 924 N. 25 Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Jeffrey was arrested when his last intended victim got away on July 23, 1991.
Jeffrey confessed everything he did. Some of the information in them mentions
that he had a fifty-seven gallon drum, which held three of the victims’
torsos. He would also boil his victims heads, and keep the skulls in his closet.
He would also cut off peoples parts, and put them in jars of formaldehyde. On
February 17, 1992, Jeff was sentenced to fifteen consecutive life terms, for
murder and dismemberment of fifteen young men and boys. He would serve his sentence
in the Columbia Correctional Institution, which is near Portage, Wisconsin.
Jeff and two other inmates were brought in to clean the prison gymnasium. Twenty
minutes later, guards found Dahmer and one of the other inmates beaten severely,
and one hour and one minute later, Dahmer was pronounced dead. He was beaten
to death by another inmate, twenty-five-year-old Christopher Scarver. Dahmer’s
head was destroyed with a broom handle, and then smashed against the floor and
wall. Jeffrey Dahmer died in the local Divine Savior Hospital.
