| The Mars Exploration Rover is not only the most popular type of mission to Mars but the most recently launched rover mission or any mission to Mars. The rover was launched on July 2003 and was appointed to be landed back on Earth in January of 2004. The purpose of this mission was to look for traces of liquids and to examine fresh rock. |
