Habitat:
The short tailed hawks habitat is open woodlands of pine and oak, cypress swamps, and mangroves. They also tend to reside in forest areas.
Physical Features:
The immature hawks are usually white in the front, with brown drop like strpies on the white. When the hawk matures, the brown spots turn more like a redish, orange color. Female Short Tailed hawks are always larger than the male.

The Short Tailed hawk has a great talent for hunting.
