Make
your very own catapult!

We
DID!
Materials
you will need (for a catapult made from 1 x 2 boards):
Five
1x2x4 inch boards
Two
1x2x8 inch boards
One
wooden/plastic spoon 9 1/2" long
8-10
rubber bands
Four
3" wood screws
Twelve
1 3/4" wood screws
Two
1/4 x 1 1/2" long dowels
On
the 8" boards, 3 1/2" from the end, pre-drill a 1/2" hole
on 2" side of the board. Just ahead of this hole, 2"
from the front, drill two holes for your screws, going through the
narrow parts. Next attach the uprights to the long boards just
ahead of the 1'2" hole. Then, pre-drill the other three
1"x2"x4" boards on the ends and screw them into
place. Next, put the rubber bands through the holes on the side,
and "pin" them in place with the dowels on the outside.
Place the spoon in the middle of the rubber bands and rotate the dowel
tops towards the front of the catapult until tension is at the desired
rate. Fire In The
Hole!
