The
Very Hungry Caterpillar
by
Eric Carle
About
the story:
In the light of the moon a
little egg lay on a leaf." So begins Eric Carle's classic,
"The Very Hungry Caterpillar". This book follows the ravenous
caterpillar's path as he eats his way through one apple (and the pages
of the book itself) on Monday, two pears on Tuesday, three plums on
Wednesday, and so on, through cherry pie and sausage - -until he is
really fat and has a stomachache -- I bet you can guess what happens
then! The book has a great story and Eric Carle's wonderful
artistry.
It
is good for teaching nutrition, counting, science (stages of a
butterfly) and the days of the week.

About
the story:
One
day Beautiful Butterfly sat admiring himself.
His friends came along to invite him to a party.
He was too much into his own beauty, he didn’t even notice his
friends. When the sunset
came, he heard all his friends that were at a party. He thought he
was not invited. By that
time he was feeling pretty lonely, when dragonfly came over and asked
why he was not at the party, he realized he HAD been invited after all!
He then followed his friend all the way back to the party.
Everyone danced till the sun came up.
"It was the most wonderful party!" he exclaimed.
