Abby was the editor for our site.  She made sure we didn't make any spelling/typo errors.  She also cracked the editing whip, making sure we used proper grammar.  Her research project involved the South Dakota butterflies page, and she assisted with the scanning projects.  This is her first website, and she usually uses the computer for games and typing.  Abby has internet access at home and did some of her research from there.  Abby's hobbies are hanging out with friends, dancing and drama.

Emily was the game master for our site.  She created all of the activities/games that you can play, and she used several different web sites to complete her tasks.  She is a 4th grader and her research for the project was to read different books about metamorphosis and write quizzes/activities for them.  Some of the on-line resources she used were Quia.com and Puzzlemaker.com.  She also helped to edit for quality.  This was her first try at building a website.  Emily has a very slow internet connection at home, so most of her work needed to be done at school.  Her hobbies are basketball, softball and piano.

Kayla was the idea person for our site.  She did a little bit of everything and helped to keep us all on task.  She is also a 5th grader and her research for the project was to locate photos of the butterflies we can find in South Dakota.  She became a master scanner, and even tried her hand at the art work.  This is her first attempt at creating a website, and had only made one web page before taking on this project.   Kayla has internet access and used it for her research for the site.   Her hobbies are dancing, drama and hanging out with her friends.

Megan is a 4th grader who jumped right into the project by agreeing to become the web master for our project.  She was responsible for creating most of the pages for our site after the basic graphic design was set up by Rose.  Her research assignment was to create a dictionary of terms for metamorphosis.  Megan does have the internet, but her connection speed is very slow as it is still a dial-up account.  She had never made a website before.  She did most of her online research at school.  Her hobbies are softball, basketball, and painting.

Rose is a 5th grader who has never made a website before.  Her role was graphic designer, and she drew many of the pictures on our website.  She made the coloring pages too.  She also researched for the definitions page.  Rose is not allowed to use the internet at home, and she is the only student in the group who attends a school in a different state.  She goes to school in Minnesota.  Rose was only able to complete work for the project at school.  Her hobbies are drawing, painting and hanging out with her friends.

Mrs. W has been coaching ThinkQuest teams for the past seven years.  She is the gifted ed teacher/coordinator for our district.  Her role on the team was to advise, help select a topic, share her knowledge of software/hardware, and teach us about graphic design.  She also helped us learn how to cite our sources, locate reliable information and get permission to use photos.
