Drag On This

What is Drag?

Drag is an aerodynamic force that hinders an aircraft's motion through the air. Every part of the plane generates drag. Drag is know as a Mechanical force. When a solid comes in contact with a gas, air in this case, drag is generated.. It works the same way with any solid but without that fluid or solid it is not possible. The difference in velocity creates different amounts of drag. Therefore it is also nessecary for motion to be in place so drag can work. Lift works with drag so that the plane can fly. The shape of the plane or any matter that goes through the air is a huge factor in the amount of drag. This is how aerodynamic the plane is, which is where most people have heard the word aerodynamic. Materials used to build the aircraft are also a important part in amount of drag. A smooth surface creates less friction in the air than say a rough surface. This is just one of the four factors of the aerodynamics of a airplane.
