Rattlesnakes

Rattlesnakes do not go out to harm you.

Many people do not know that they aren't trying to hurt you, so whenever they see a rattlesnake, they try to kill it.

If a rattlesnake rattles its tail it is trying to tell you to GO AWAY!

They are easy to tell apart from other snakes because of this.

Even though they are the largest snakes in the U.S., most rattlesnakes are more scared of you than you are of them.

The rattlesnake is common in prairies and deserts, although a few live in wet places.

Rattlesnakes are cold-blooded, which means that they sunbathe to warm their blood up so they can move and hunt.

Rattlers can't sweat though, so they shouldn't be in the sun too long.

They eat mostly rat like animals and lizards, but will eat squirrels, jackrabbits, birds, and even skunks! Remember, if you see a rattler, just LEAVE IT ALONE !!!
