This website will be limited to the state of Georgia and will identify the species of venomous snakes and arthropods (spiders, scorpions, bees, wasps, ants) that cause illness or death in humans by a system (fang, sting) meant to inject venom.
The website will explain where these creatures can be found in the state of Georgia and further identify the specific niche in a habitat that these creatures call home.
The site will explain the difference between a “bite” and a “sting” and make clear why these animals need venom to survive in their natural ecosystem.
An anatomy of each creature and its specific method of venom delivery will be provided.
Although humans are not usually the intended victims of these creatures, the site will show common areas in and around a house where these creatures might be encountered.
The website will offer a description of the skin reaction and/or symptoms usually associated with a particular creature’s venom and offer appropriate first aid suggestions to reduce pain and long term effects of a bite or sting. |
