Hiking through the Georgia Mountains can be a wonderful experience. Once we were walking along a dirt trail, enjoying what nature has to offer, when we came upon a wooded area where sunlight was scarce and the air was damp. As we continued our trek (adventure), we suddenly heard a bustling in the grass up ahead. My buddy and I stopped to listen to the sound but could not see anything moving. We whipped out the field guide and searched for the section about snakes. We were in an ideal environment for copperheads which are the most common venomous snakes in the Eastern U.S....
