Bees are found all over Georgia and are mostly active during the spring and summer.

A bee's stinger can only be used once because it's stinger is contained in its abdomen where it's venom is stored; so when it stings you, the stinger and the abdomen get ripped off the body.

bullet

The bee's abdomen gets ripped off so the venom can continue to flow into the stinger which is in the skin.

bullet

The venom causes your skin to swell, turn red, and hurt.

bullet

You should take out the stinger as soon as possible to prevent further swelling.
