Millipedes

Class: Millipedes Order:
Centipedes Family: Strogylosodide Millipedes

Millipedes are not insects, as many people think.
The millipede has around seven hundred legs.
The legs make the millipede part of the animal group Diplopoda (scientific name) family.
The millipede is a poisonous animal.
It oozes a poison from the exoskeleton which is poison to other predators.
Humans aren't considered a millipede's predator so we aren't effected by their poison.
Millipedes range from 1 inch to about one foot.
You can find them in damp places (like a basement).
Millipedes use their sensing antennas to get around. |
Cool Huh?
