The origins of Prohibition came from a wide variety of drinkers from across the country who wanted to import and sell alcohol. But before the gangs and smugglers, there was religion. Some people referred to the Bible as the blame for drinkers. The Bible showed people that wine was God’s gift to man, and that it was sacred. It also came from out of the country; for instance- after WWI, people were traveling from overseas, and they had brought the habit of drinking back. Alcohol has been around as long as some people can remember.
