Our primary purpose was to do research
and learn about Prohibition. We learned a lot about teamwork by
working together. We met at least once a week since October and our team
has worked over 400 hours on this project. Each week we had a
facilitator and a note taker. Every week we would rotate the assignments
to different people. We had a project plan and documented what we needed
to do for each meeting. We had an issues log which kept track of
issues and questions that we had for our advisor. We learned how
to get permissions for pictures, and also learned about copyright laws.
We learned how to use web tools on our own with no previous knowledge.
Our instructor, Cathy Richarde, provided strong guidance and motivation
during this project.
Gary: I have had fun
researching Prohibition and learning how to build a website with my friends for our History class. I have learned
about planning a project and working as a team. I am especially
proud of how we learned web tools on our own and taught each other how
to use them.
Evan: I was excited when I heard there was
going to be a contest for building a website. I thought it was a fun and
helpful, new experience, and indeed it was. I learned how to use a
variety of web tools, and also learned a lot about the origins of
Prohibition. This was a fun project that I enjoyed working on with my
friends.
David: I did not know anything about web design
before I started this project, but now I think that I could build a
(basic) website on my own. I really enjoyed learning about
prohibition and working with such a close group. I liked working
with the web tools and look forward to using them again in the near
future.
Andrew: I have enjoyed working with my friends
on this project. I learned how to use web tools and I
had no previous experience with these tools. I learned a lot about
Prohibition and would like to learn even more.
