Wild, Wild Wireless: Unguarded computer data leave many users vulnerable

Gone are the days when the settlers of the wild west lived isolated from one another and had to be armed to the teeth to protect themselves from the environment and natives. The real world is no longer as unsafe as before but the same cannot be said for cyberspace. To Harold Belbin, the author, it is just as unsafe and unpredictable as the western front of the past.

Feds Say Terrorists Gathered Info Online

According to newly found evidence in Afghanistan, The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) has claimed that al-Qaeda used the Web to learn about potential targets. The terrorist group had used the Internet to collect classified security and military information from the US prior to its attacks over the past few years – an example being September 11. Hacker suspect called 'damn good ... and dangerous'

Sometimes, youngsters are more trouble than they are worth. The U.S. Army had arrested a number of Americans and Israelis for infiltrating U.S. government computers to retrieve information. One of them, a mere teenager, had previously managed to hack into the Pentagon’s network, one of the best protected and secure networks in the world. The statement “damn good … and dangerous” with regard to this underage criminal was made by none other than Benjamin Netanyahu.

There have been many more of such intrusions by others who may have links to him and some intrusions have even been carried out to steal information from NASA!
