Skycars
By Jake

Strap on your seat belt to learn about the car of the future.  It is called a Skycar. The only one made now is the Moller Skycar.

This vehicle is still only a prototype.  The thing that makes it unique is that it will be the first personally affordable, vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle the world has ever seen. This vehicle is like a helicopter or like the British Harrier jump jet. It can hover and land on almost any surface.  Don't be confused by the 'car' part of its name.  This vehicle does not travel along roads.  But perhaps someday, it will replace the automobile.  Instead of getting in your car to travel, you'll takeoff in your Skycar

The Moller Skycar is a vehicle that has a body like an aircraft.  It has eight engines.  Where people sit, it looks like a jet cockpit. They can go 350+ miles per hour or 563+ kilometers per hour comfortably.  They get about 28 miles per gallon (45 kilometers per 4 liters) and can use a variety of fuels such as natural gas or diesel fuel. The M100 Skycar seats one person, the M400 seats four people, and the M600 will seat six people.  The vehicle is designed to fit inside an average sized garage. (But remember it is still only a prototype.)

That’s the end of the road, but remember you can always take a Skycar, even if the road ends.
