The Old Kingdom (2650 B.C. to 2134 B.C.)

Modern Era (Year-Year A.D.)

Post-Fall (89 B.C. Onward)
• The last queen, Cleopatra, died in 101 B.C. This marked the true end of Egypt as it had been for the past three millennia. (Story of Mankind)
• Roman influences began to enter Egypt as soon as the Romans took over.
• For the next 1500 years, Arabic and other West Asian influences shaped Egypt into the country today's world knows. With the 700 year Arabic rule, Islam established itself in Egypt soundly, and has yet to budge from the country. Today, ninety of Egypt is Muslim, while the other ten percent is Coptic Christian.
