We're all juniors from the East Coast United States. Our team coach is Scott Rubin, our Information Technology teacher. We're all currently studying Oracle 9i and we hope to be certified by the end of the year.   We chose the topic of cultural fashion and evolution throughout cultures, but our project definitely evolved from there into something different. We chose to take four cultures and contrast and compare their different fashions throughout different eras or throughout different social classes.   We began working in December, and had some minor amount of difficulty keeping our stuff together. Because our school is a county school, we each live in different towns pretty far away, so out-of-school and weekend meetings were pretty much impossible. We had to meet during our homeroom and lunch periods, but because some of us have so many extracurricular activities, it was difficult sometimes. Instant messaging each other back and forth helped out a lot when we couldn't really talk to each other or have meetings.   Our team was selected pretty much because of our different areas of knowledge. Era, Ingenious, and Kaena all know programming, and Mightyman is really smart and is very good at researching and finding information. Ingenious and Kaena are good with Photoshop and other photo-editing programs. Kaena is a decent artist. All in all, our original "leader" person, Ingenious, rounded us up and thought we were the best our school could offer for the ThinkQuest competition. Technological   All HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code was hand-written in Notepad by the members of the MIKE team.   All images were edited in Adobe Photoshop without the assistance of any tutorials by the members of the MIKE team.   This site was designed specifically to work in Mozilla Firefox, although it is fully functional in Internet Explorer. I chose to participate in thinkQUEST because I felt it would be a wonderful opportunity to work with people who share common interests with me and put my problem solving skills to the test by undertaking this great challenge. I wanted to see the results of a collaboration between myself and three of the most talented people in my school with a single goal in mind.
