The Objects of the Game

The object for the batter is to hit the ball and run all the way around the bases to home plate, the 4th base.  The purpose for the pitcher is to throw the ball down the strike zone 3 times and strike the batter out. The goal for the outfield is to catch the ball and throw it in as fast as they can. The objective for the catcher is to catch the ball thrown from the pitcher. The object for the infield is to throw the ball to first base or the other bases before the ball gets there.

Ways to get Outs

The easiest way to get somebody out is by catching the ball before it hits the ground. The second easiest way to get a out is by throwing the ball to a base or tagging them with the ball in your glove. The next easiest way to get an out is if the pitcher throws the ball three times down in the batter box. One of the hardest ways to get somebody out is if you bunt the ball (half swing) with two strikes and the ball rolls foul.  The hardest way to get somebody out is by if the ball is really high in the air and stays in the infield.

Ways to get Points

You can score a run or four runs, is if you hit a ball over the fence somewhere between 390-440 feet away. Another way to score a run is if the pitcher throws four balls out of the strike area 4 times in a row, if nobody is on base, 3 times if one person is on base, 2 times if two people are on base, and once if the bases are filled.  You can also hit the ball and run around all the bases if there are people on the bases, you want to hit the ball so they can run from whatever base they are on to home plate.

Ways to get Strikes

You can get a strike if the pitcher throws the ball down the plate and you either swing and miss or you let the ball go by because you don’ t think it is a good pitch. You can also get a strike if you hit the ball in foul territory.

Positions of the Field

There are 9 positions in the defensive team.  On the infield there is the Catcher, Third Base, Shortstop (between third base and second base), Second Base, First Base, and the Pitcher.  In the outfield there is right Field, Left Field, and Center Field.  Both the infield and the outfield together there is a total of nine players in the outfield.
