Leeches

****Leeches are real pests. They are flattened segmented worms that instead of swimming, and moving like inchworms, they move by "looping" flipping onto their head, then leaning to their tail causing them to move about twice their length. They are often abundant in shallow, non-moving water that is warm. Leeches hate sunlight, and burrow into the bottom of the pond.

***Leeches have been seldom found in acid waters, but mainly found in fresh waters. Sometimes they have even been found in dry ponds and where ponds used to be.

Bloodsucking Leeches

****Bloodsucking leeches are graceful swimmers, and have well developed jaws, for the reason of scavenging, and to hang onto the host's area that had them on there.
