Birds

What is a bird?
****A bird is a winged animal. They lay eggs and hatch their young. Unlike mammals, birds do not feed their young milk. Instead, they feed their young insects like worms. Birds migrate south so they can stay in warmer weather. For instance, Canada geese will travel to the U.S., and U.S. birds will travel to Mexico.

****Some birds are vegetarians, while others will eat small fish and insects. There are many species of birds and much more to learn about them. Read the bird section to learn more about the birds you might see at the pond.
