Did you know there are over 250,000 different kinds of wild flowers? Plants which produce flowers are known as angiosperms. All plants that have certain features in common, like they all produce seeds and contain tissues which transport fluid around the plant. Petals are delicate, often brightly colored, and reproductive parts. Flowers have male parts and female parts. Male reproductive parts are called stamens. Stamens are reproductive organs. Each stamen is made up of a pod-like anther. Anthers contain pollen sacs, which split open to release grains of pollen.
