The butterwort is the common name for
this plant, which measures 5 to 8 inches in diameter and is greasy to sight and touch. The butterwort's trapping mechanism is similar to that of the sundews. In the spring the butterwort's leaves form a circle on the ground and they send up flowers. The lights and smell of the butterwort attract bugs onto the leaves were they become trapped. The more the bug wiggles the more stuck it becomes. Slowly the bug is dissolved. |
