Purifying Water in Arid Areas

 

        There are quite a few ways to purify water.  Here is an example, Boiling Water then 

  adding Bleach or Iodine. When you boil water there really is no set time, but the temperature needs to be precisely at a raging boil.  When it gets to this point, all or most of the bacteria is dead.  Using Bleach or Iodine can chemically treat the water. But you can’t use too much of them or you will taste it, and it can be harmful to your body.  So you need to add 8 large drops of either chemical then you let the water sit for 20 minutes.  After that you shake or stir and let sit for five more minutes.  This is not only a reliable resource, it is actually a safety lesson to!
