Have you ever wondered why normal limestone is colorless, but a coral
reef, though made of limestone, is the most colorful place on Earth?
In a recent National Geographic magazine, this question was
answered. It all depends on the amount of sunshine reaching the
coral. The less sun a reef has, the less colorful it will be.
That is why coral gets duller as you go deeper down. It's like a
rainbow when there is sunshine and rain at once, the light through the
water reflects beautiful and brilliant colors. |
