Theories

There are a lot of theories about birds evolving from dinosaurs. Here are some we found. Alan Feduccia, an evolutionist, and Larry Martin, a paleontologist, think that birds evolved from tree-living mini-crocodiles (arboreal theory). Others say birds evolved from running dinosaurs (cursorial theory). Also another theory is on how modern feathers came to be. Feathers on the arms and tail may have evolved into today’s modern birds’ feather formation. Feathers may have evolved as coverings for warmth, and then were used for flying later.

Genetic facts were not present in birds’ DNA in that of its declared reptile ancestor. For feathers to have come from scales indicates that critical amounts of genetic information would have needed to be present. Also, the heat insulation is different. The loss of flight means the loss of information, which is irrelevant to evolution. It also requires an increase of information. Furthermore, feathers are hairy.
