I have a question!

Where can I get:

How much each day do I need:

I'm just too tired / lazy / bored / busy to go through all of the above.. Can I have a short summary of everything?

I heard that someone is lactose intolerant... What does 'lactose intolerant' mean?

Lactose intolerant people are people who cannot drink milk or eat food containing milk sugars. They experience unpleasant symptoms like:

  • bloating
  • gas
  • nausea (feel like vomiting)
  • diarrhoea
  • cramps at the abdomen

As milk is often the main source of food we get calcium from, lactose intolerant people cannot drink milk and hence do not get enough calcium. Here are a few ways for such people to ensure that they take enough calcium daily:

  • Have yogurt. The "friendly" bacteria help to digest lactose.
  • Buy lactose-reduced or lactose-free milk and dairy products.
  • Include calcium-rich foods in your diet such as soya-bean milk and green leafy vegetables.
