History: There are three St. Louis Cemeteries in New Orleans. St. Louis Cemetery #1 was the first cemetery, founded 1789. Interesting Facts: Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau (See a picture), and the first black mayor, Ernest Morial, are buried at St. Louis Cemetery. St. Louis Cemetery is one of the few in the United States that has been accepted for the National Register.(July 30, 1975) Location: Basin and St. Louis Street on Rampart Sreet in the French
