The Siamese crocodile was thought be almost extinct. The only known siamese crocodiles were in the Laos and Cambodia zoo. The World Crocodilian Society thought the last one in the wild was seen in 2001. However WCS thought that if there was one there must be more. They started putting cameras in the area they had sighted the one. Others were discovered and now the Siamese crocodile is the most protected crocodile in Asia. The Siamese crocodile was named this because it was first found in Siam. The Siamese Crocodile lives all over Southeast Asia and in Thailand and Vietnam.
