The American Alligator
The American Alligator lives in swampy areas. The American Alligator is found in the southeastern United States. An alligator spends most of his time in the sand, warming in the sun. The alligator mates while in the water. The female lays 20 to 80 eggs. Two or three months later, the babies are born. The babies eat on their own. They eat shellfish and insects. As they get older, they eat fish, frogs, rodents, and deer. They are not a danger to people.
