African Dwarf Crocodile

The African Dwarf Crocodile doesn’t spend much time out in the sun like other crocodilians. They have the largest eyes of any crocodilian. Their HUGE eyes help them see at night when they hunt their prey. The African Dwarf croc likes to eat mostly fish, small animals, and amphibians. Unlike some others, they don’t attack people. Here’s an interesting fact: they have a tongue that has a fold that the crocodile can press against the roof of its mouth. Their maximum body length is 6.3 feet long. The African Dwarf lives in small ponds, streams, and forests. They try to stay away from the larger species of crocodiles.
