Creation Of the Muscle Car

Creating the first muscle car was no simple task.  It began with Pontiac's John Z. DeLorean's idea to put a high-powered V-8 engine into a mid-sized automobile.  In order to accomplish this, the mechanic worked around General Motor's law on intermediate-sized vehicles having engines over 330 cid.  The final product was the Gran Tourismo Omologato (G.T.O.).
