Four basic parts of an animal cell are :

cell membrane (partially-permeable and thin layer around the cell which can allow the shape of the cell to change)

cytoplasm (jelly-like substance that fills the cell)

vacuoles (small spaces containing air, liquid or food particles)

nucleus (controls the cell's activities and contain chromosomes).
