Planning and Research
The planning phase was tough; we could not decide on what subject to focus on, we went through quite a few discussions and finally decided to choose a subject that we are quite familiar with and wanted to know more of. We started off by making a concept map of what we needed to do. As our research progressed, we made many changes to the map. It was very useful throughout the construction phrase.
We enjoyed using the technologies like Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver and Adobe Photoshop, though in the beginning it was tedious work to understand how to use it.
As soon as the plan was complete, we divided the research among the team members. Each person would have a number of subjects to conduct research on.
About us
We are all from the same country, school, class and age which would be Singapore, Jurong West Secondary School, 2E1 and 14 and here's a little bit of each of us.
This is the first ever Think Quest Competition that any of us have ever been in. We were all asked to do this project by our form teacher, Ms Sng.
Chuan constructed a basic template where team members made some suggestions and alterations to the layout.
Hello I'm Chuan, I'm glad that I joined this competition as I had learnt more about Photoshop and doing a template. Althrough I am the designer, I also help out with the research work during my free time.
Hey! Hey! I'm Beverley, I'm the multimedia developer of the group. Occasionally, I help out with the research. This project has got me to understand more about the crisis that the earth is going through. I have learnt how to make games through this competition, and it's great fun!
My name's Marcus, and I do the designing together with some help from Chuan from time to time. I do a lot of the research and pass my ideas to Shimma who ask the organisations for permission if she likes it.
What's up? My name is Shimma and I am the web developer. I compile the research outcomes done by my group members and veto them. This web-designing competition has thought me how to use Macromedia Dreamweaver.
The team's coach.
Ms Joanne was wonderful. She was our guide in teaching us how to use programmes like Flash and Dreamweaver. She was patient with us when we didn't understand, and went through the steps slowly with us till we understood. When problems arose, she was always there to reassure and get the team back on track. Thanks a bunch, Joanne.
The teachers
Ms Sng and Ms Wang were the best! They gave up their free-periods, their time after school, and even time during the holidays to help us to achieve our goal. For their actions, the COT website team members are forever grateful. Thank you, Ms Sng and Ms Wang!
Also, thanks goes out to all of the parents who assisted by driving and feeding the team. The team could never have done this without them.
Thanks for visiting our website!
