Throughout the design and developmental process of our website, we gained more than initially anticipated. The three of us have benefited both as a team and individually.

Having the opportunity to work together as a team is, in itself, memorable. In our day and age, many people do things for themselves, and themselves alone. However, working with 2 other amazing people who also share a love for information technology was an experience we all value. Being able to bounce ideas off one another was pleasurable, as was improving on these ideas as a team. We found that working together with people we weren’t necessarily close to, has definitely brought us together. If this experience is anything to go by, teamwork is definitely more favorable than working as an individual. Each one of us will willingly testify that Thinkquest is a challenge. However, a challenge you can easily overcome as a team – a team of like-minded individuals with willingness to contribute to our society, and learn new things along the way. We all feel that we have learnt about the world around us, through our research. It is amazing that many teenagers our age do not fully understand the environmental problems that we are faced with everyday. Through making this website, we hoped to increase awareness of these issues. We all believe that this was successfully achieved by our final product.

As individuals, we have all benefited from the challenge that Thinkquest is. Each one of us has learnt something from one another. Be it in website design, environmental appreciation, teamwork, or even leadership. We all respect the contribution that each of us has made to the final product and consequently respect each individual’s outlook and dedication to the task. Being able to be a part of a team that must work together to one final goal is challenging yet rewarding. Throughout the course of the competition, each one of us made compromises and suggestions. None of which we regret. Each of us took a plunge. It was a plunge however, that we easily tackled and bounced back successfully from. Our website-developing abilities have definitely improved, as have our adaptability to situations and catering for audiences. As well, we all had to make time to work on the website. Our time-management and effectiveness in juggling schoolwork and extra activities have definitely improved, if not peaked, thanks to our participation in the competition. It is a shame that the competition has ended. Each one of us is eager to take on a challenge similar to this again in the near future.

We all believe that the final product has been done to the best of our ability. We are also more than happy with the final outcome – in fact, it came out better than initially expected. We would be delighted to see our final product reach the internet. Why? To achieve our goal of increasing public awareness of the problems our environment faces in the future! In our country, and even our world, it is important that we recognize these problems. Our collaboration with people who speak a language other than English has allowed our website to reach people who don’t just live in Australia, but also other parts of the world. This global diversity is of much importance these days. We are glad to have been involved in Thinkquest. Finally, thank you for allowing each of us such an experience!
