Theseus was a king of Athens famous for many exploits .He was the son of Aethra, who came of age and set off for Athens with the sword and sandals.

Along the way, she encountered and defeated six murderous adversaries. He was brought up at Troezen, and when arrived at manhood was to proceed to Athens and present himself to his father.
