Hermes, known for his cunning and shrewdness, was the son of the
legendary Zeus and the nymph Maia, whose parents
were Atlas and one of the Pleiades. People who worshipped Hermes were
shepherds, travellers, merchants, mathematicians, public speakers,
writers, athletes and even thieves as he was known as cunning, sly
