Artemis was yet another daughter of Zeus, this time whose mother was Leto. She was the twin sister of God Apollo. She was the goddess, hunting, animals and fertility. She often is shown with the moon over her head and is knows sometimes as Selene, or goddess of the moon. Artemis was also in the pantheon of Olympians, and she was a virgin goddess. She is often depicted with bows and arrows to assist in her hunting, which were made by Hephaestus. |
