About Us

Moreton Bay is a protected Marine Park. where wading birds come to feed and roost. The reasons for this is that Moreton Bay has rich feeding grounds filled with spectacular mangroves. The Eastern Curlew, a common wading bird, in Moreton Bay, flies far distances to reach this spot. Shore birds fly sometimes up to 60,000 km to reach the mangroves and sometimes fly 5 -6 thousand kilometres non-stop. You are not allowed to disturb the birds in any way and you have to keep dogs under control around the birds. In Moreton Bay there are boardwalks which lead you over the mangroves and you are able to see the birds enjoying  their normal life.
